あしゅさんによる、黒のマチエールを楽しむ大きなトートバッグ。
幾重にも重なる色や筆あと、凹凸のある質感。ひとことで黒といっても、その表情は一様ではありません。光の当たり方や布の動きによって見え方が変わり、使い込むほどに新たな表情が現れる。そんな黒のマチエールを、日々の暮らしの中で育てていきたい作品です。
風合いにこだわった布を草木染めし、主にアクリル絵の具で筆を動かしては洗う工程を繰り返す。色の重なりや筆あとの表情、手をかけて生まれた独特の質感を、暮らしの道具へと仕立てています。
約45×44cmのゆったりとしたサイズは、書類やノートパソコン、羽織もの、ポーチなど、日々の持ち物をまとめて持ち歩くのに。約92cmの長い持ち手で肩掛けにも斜め掛けにもでき、大きな布の面に広がるマチエールを、装いの一部として楽しめます。
手に触れる感触も、使い続けるうちの変化も。完成したときが終わりではなく、使う人の時間とともに風合いが育っていくバッグです。

神奈川県生まれ。
女子美術大学 絵画学科 版画コース 卒業
同大学院 美術専攻版画 修了
大学で油絵と版画を学び、九十九里町へと移り住む。
ガラス工芸の会社に勤務したのち、「あしゅ」として布に絵を描き、
一点もののバッグや布小物を制作する活動を始める。
Asyu / Black Textured Tote Bag
A generously sized tote exploring the rich matière of black fabric. Far from a uniform color, its layered tones, brush marks, and textured surface reveal subtle variations that become part of the pleasure of using it over time.
Carefully selected fabric is botanically dyed, then worked mainly with acrylic paint through repeated brushwork and washing. Each piece develops its own distinctive texture, shaped by the artist's hand.
Measuring approximately 45 × 44 cm, it offers ample room for documents, a laptop, an extra layer of clothing, and other everyday essentials. The approximately 92 cm handles allow it to be worn over the shoulder or across the body, bringing the expressive textile surface into everyday outfits.
More than a finished object, it is a bag whose texture and character can be enjoyed as they gradually evolve with everyday use.
